Slate offers the ability to log recruitment trips internally through its Trips function. Slate trips can house multiple events, stops, notes and even flight information into a single dashboard.
To begin, hover your cursor over the Events icon in the top menu and select Trips.
Select the New Trip icon to bring up the Edit Trip menu.
Name your trip and place it within the appropriate folder. Create a new folder if needed by choosing "Other" from the dropdown and typing in the desired name. The user automatically defaults to the the the current user, but can be assigned to another active Slate user if desired. Lastly, make any notes before saving.
You should now be on the main homepage for your newly created trip. Options for adding additional items to your trip can be seen on the right-hand menu.
- New Event - creates a new event to be housed within your trip. See the article on Events and Event Trips for more on creating events.
- New Stop - adds an administrative note to a specific trip. This allows the user to store date, address, and contact data about the trip. This is helpful when printing out the Itinerary.
- New Slot - creates availabilities for the user/recruiter during their trip. Students can sign up to visit with the user at the destination or online through Slate's Webinar feature.
- New Expenses - allows the user to add expenses directly to a trip. Documents can be scanned and attached for record keeping.
- Print Expenses - opens a downloadable PDF of trip expenses tied to the trip.
- Print Itinerary - opens a downloadable Word document with a list of all stops and events associated with the user's trip.
- Copy Trip - allows the user the ability to copy the trip if desired. This is utilized when the user intends to make the same or a similar trip again.
Deleting a Trip
Trips can easily be deleted by selecting the "Edit" button at the top right-hand corner of the trip dashboard. *Note: deleting the trip will also delete the itinerary, expenses, and all associated events. Slate will prompt you to confirm before deletion occurs.*
